About This Training

A leadership session that reframes power as something every leader holds and shapes daily, through who gets access, who gets feedback, and who gets opportunities. The room moves from awareness to practice, ending with a short audit leaders can run on themselves every week.

What Participants Learned

  • Name the three types of power. Recognize relational, emotional, and decision power in everyday leadership moves.
  • Use the ACNA reframe. Acknowledge, Care, Name the behavior, Ask supportive questions, a method for hard performance conversations.
  • Spot minimizing language. Catch words like sorta, kind of, and maybe that soften leadership impact.
  • Distinguish equity from sameness. Equity is consistent, intentional use of power, not identical treatment.
  • Hold emotional conversations without losing the line. Stay in care and accountability at the same time.
  • Run a weekly power and equity audit. Five honest questions on cancelled 1:1s, avoided conversations, and uneven access.

This training really opened me up and revealed many things I have been subtly practicing that are not equitable leadership. Thanks to this training, I am now more aware and trained to watch for that.
